How the 7-day free trial works
When you sign up for Emberhop's Essential or Pro plan, you start with a 7-day free trial. During those seven days, you have full access to everything the plan includes: the lead gate, expanded document limits, team seats, and analytics. No credit card is required to start the trial.
Starting your trial
You can start the trial from two places:
- From the pricing page: Click "Start free trial" on the Essential or Pro card. This takes you through a brief signup flow if you do not have an account, then activates the trial immediately.
- From the billing page in your dashboard: If you already have a Free plan account, go to Settings, Billing, and click "Start free trial" next to the plan you want to try.
The trial starts as soon as you complete the signup or click the button on the billing page. You do not need to enter any payment information at this point.
What you get during the trial
During the 7-day trial, your account behaves exactly as it would on the paid plan:
- All document limits and lead gate features are active.
- Analytics track views and leads from day one.
- You can invite team members up to the plan's seat limit.
- Any documents you upload and embed codes you create during the trial remain active after the trial if you subscribe to the plan.
The trial is available for Essential and Pro plans only. The Business plan does not include a self-serve trial. If you want to evaluate Business features, contact the Emberhop team for a demo or a custom trial arrangement.
What happens when the trial ends
At the end of the 7-day period, one of two things happens depending on whether you have added a payment method:
- If you added a payment method: Your subscription starts and your card is charged the monthly fee for the plan you trialed. You receive an email confirmation with your invoice.
- If you did not add a payment method: Your account automatically returns to the Free plan. No charge is made. Your documents, analytics, and lead data are retained, but lead gate access is disabled and only 3 documents can remain active.
You can add a payment method at any point during the trial from the billing page. There is no penalty for waiting until day seven to decide.
Trial limitations to be aware of
Each email address can only start one free trial per plan. If you cancel and then want to try again, you would need to subscribe directly rather than starting another trial. The trial is designed to give you a genuine chance to evaluate the product, not to be used repeatedly.
